Department 56 Dickens' Village- Margrove Orangery #58440 New. Introduced in December 1999- Retired in December of 2001. Oranges were sweet treats in Dickens' time, but in old London town, the tropical climate for growing oranges is hard to come by, so the need for an Orangery blossomed.

When I saw this piece it was love at first sight! I added one to my Village! When creating this listing, I noticed there were no. Pre-owned Margrove Orangery's for sale.

Apparently those who own the Orangery, keep them! This piece has never been removed from it's Styrofoam.

The lit photos are of my personal piece. The original plastic outside wrap did it's job; I replaced it with high-end U-line plastic. Please read our Store's description to get a glimpse of what we do! This Retired beautiful piece is a hand. Painted Porcelain Original and in it's Box/sleeve.
